Ring-tailed lemur

Picture of Mahefa, the ring-tailed lemur

Mahefa

We made Mahefa especially for the National Teddy Bear Artist Awards held in Hampshire on the 22nd of May 2011. We are pleased to say that he won third prize in the competition, picking up a yellow rosette and a certificate in the process.

All of the colours are made by sewn-in fabric inserts - he has no airbrushing at all. Tilly even went to the bother of counting the tail rings on a real lemur to make sure she got it right!

He has 6 joints, with two nut and bolt joints in the neck, and one in each of his limbs and his tail is wired to improve the ways he can pose.

Mahefa is made of mohair and he has cashmere pawpads. His nose is hand-embroidered in black perle.

Alexei

Tilly has made meerkats in three sizes. Alexei (left) is the largest and is one of a kind. They have 5 joints, with nut and bolt joints in the neck and in all four limbs.

They are made of mohair and they have leather pawpads. Their noses are hand embroidered in perle.

Simples!

Sadly if you wanted one, they are all adopted now.
